The robotics industry is constantly changing and evolving. New robotics technologies and developments in automation are quickly creating exciting career opportunities at every education level – from micro-credentials to PhDs. Here is where you can learn more about robotics careers in manufacturing and how these new technologies are benefiting workers
Thinking about getting started with a robotics career in manufacturing but not sure where to start? Have you participated in robotics competitions like VEX and FIRST and are looking to connect the skills you learned directly to a robotics job in manufacturing? The RoboticsCareer.org team recently teamed up with ARM Institute Member and RoboticsCareer.org collaborator the REC Foundation to host a virtual workshop both for their students and alumni, as well as the general public, to detail exactly that!

We kicked off our workshop with a presentation by Niki Banks, a talent consultant from Compass. Niki is a seasoned talent professional boasting eight years of experience in the recruiting domain, with a focus on tech and disruptive markets. Using her foundation in market insights and talent intelligence, Niki’s approach to recruiting blends data with robust collaboration.
Niki detailed how you should structure your job search to achieve success! These tips included how to structure your personal pitch, what questions to ask / things to look for on a company website to determine if you'll be a good fit, and more. These tips can help you find not just a job, but a long-term career that will support your growth!
Next up, Clint Chapman from ARM Member Yaskawa, helped us understand the robotics career opportunities that exist in manufacturing and led us through an interactive tour of the Yaskawa facility, giving attendees the opportunity to see real robots at work. Yaskawa is the world's largest manufacturer of AC Inverter Drives, Servo and Motion Control, and Robotics Automation Systems.
Clint helped attendees (and those accessing our recording) understand the types of roles that exist, how those roles interact with different robots, and explained how Yaskawa approaches hiring.
Finally, John Zappa, ARM Institute Director of Product Management, closed out the workshop with a demo of RoboticsCareer.org and showed attendees how they can leverage the platform to find jobs, training, internships, apprenticeships, and so much more. John detailed how you can add experience to your profile, including your participation in robotics competitions, military experience, your skills, resume, and more to connect directly with hiring employers and get personalized job listings sent right to your inbox.
